keckcaves:fixed_mono_rendering_in_the_cave

Here is an example of a fragment for VruiConfig that adjusts rendering in the cave to be mono and for a fixed view point. (The backgroundColor choice is a light gray that improves video camera exposures.)

section Vrui
    section "*"
        backgroundColor (0.3, 0.3, 0.3, 1.0)

        # Choose a viewing mode by commenting out the ones you don't want
        viewerNames (CAVEViewer, ConsoleViewer)

        section CAVEViewer
            name CAVEViewer
headTracked false # true or false, use false for fixed view rendering
headDevice Head2 #Head2 is the cabled head tracker

            # The following line sets the fixed view stereo location if headTracked false
            # CHANGE THESE COORDINATES TO REFLECT CAMERA POSITION - SEE WIKI
            headDeviceTransformation translate (0.0, -96.0, 48.0)

            # for video need offset of tracker to center of lens in inches
            monoEyePosition (0.0, 1.0, -0.0)

            # Left and right eye positions set to the same for mono projections
            leftEyePosition (0.0, 1.0, -0.0)
            rightEyePosition (0.0, 1.0, -0.0)
        endsection

    endsection
endsection

To set up an appropriate fixed viewing position, see Static_Camera.
